The British stand-up comedian, Alun Cochrane, brought his routine to The Soho Theatre, London this week and delighted the intimate audience.
Fresh from The Edinburgh Fringe, Cochrane indulged the crowd in his show from the Festival entitled ‘Jokes. Life. And Jokes about Life’.
Centered around a box of his own 'hand-chiseled, lovingly created jokes' Cochrane precedes throughout the show to randomly select and tell these jokes, whilst integrating them into his usual anecdotal style of life stories, thus providing the ‘jokes about life.’
As shown by his appearances on such TV panel shows as ‘Mock The Week’, ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’ and ‘Have I Got News For You’, Cochrane is a natural comic and, whilst at times almost poignant, his tales don’t fail to produce a laugh from the crowd. It is without doubt his observational humour relating to everyday life that remains most amusing.
Whether discussing ‘double denim’, his wife’s illness or Meat Loaf eating Malt Loaf, Cochrane can make any story come to life, and by inviting much audience participation, many members of the crowd felt themselves part of the show.
After his dates in the capital, he will be travelling up and down the country until the start of December so make sure to catch him on tour. His show won’t disappoint.
