We had a nice chat with ‘This Is England’ star Andrew Shim on the Red Carpet at The Jameson Empire Awards, and he told us about his upcoming plans.
The former film, ‘Airborne’ is also set to star Mark Hamill, who infamously played Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars films:
“I didn’t actually get to meet him though as I’d already finished my section, and he only had a few days on it. I really wanted to meet him though! But I couldn’t remember his name; I was like can I just call him ‘Luke’?”
However, being this busy has its downfalls, and Shim wasn’t too sure of which film he wanted to triumph at the Ceremony.
“Because I’ve been quite busy I haven’t really been able to catch up on everything.”
Although, and despite not being able to drink, Shim was still optimistic about having a great evening:
“I came a few years ago (to the Empire Awards) with ‘This Is England’, but it was probably the best Awards I’ve ever been to so I’m looking forward to tonight.”
And he confirmed a new TV series of ‘This Is England’ is definitely on the cards:
“I can’t actually drink tonight because I’ve got to drive back to Sheffield tonight as we start filming in the morning at 7am.”
“We’ve been filming for about two weeks now. This Is England ’88 Christmas Special will be out this year.”
“And then we’re doing This Is England ’90 next year. Everything has already been confirmed.”
Shim is keeping busy and has also been working on other projects:
“I’ve just finished working with a director called Dominic Burns on a film called ‘Airborne’, that was about four weeks ago that I finished that. And I’ve got ‘Screwed’ with Reg Traviss coming out shortly.”
