American superstar Sharon Stone spoke to us on the Red Carpet at The Royal Albert Hall before she took to her presenting duties for Mikhail Gorbachev’s 80th Birthday concert.
The ‘Basic Instinct’ actress told us why she accepted the hosting invite:
“It’s an enormously exciting period in history and to be able to honour someone who is such a fulcrum point in that period is very exciting to me”
Despite having to address an audience packed full of political figures and showbiz superstars, Stone said she wasn’t fazed by the task ahead:
“I have all the nerves in advance, and then am done with them by the time the night comes around.”
One of the members of the audience was the former ‘Terminator’ turned Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Stone was pleased that he is now returning to Hollywood.
“We missed him (Schwarzenegger)”
However, she rejected the claim that is easier for men, such as Schwarzenegger to go in and out of films:
“I don’t think so, we all step in-and-out to do the other things that are important to us in life. We are just glad to have him back.”
In recent years Stone has appeared in such films as ‘Bobby’, ‘Alpha Dog’ and ‘Streets of Blood’.
