Despite being best known for his dancing ability, star of TV’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Vincent Simone yesterday revealed another side to his personality.
Away from the glitz and glamour of the ballroom world, car-mad Simone spoke to the assembled press at Brooklands Motor Museum about his interest in cars, his first Lancia, his favourite Honda Prelude, and his Yamaha motor bike.
He was also keen to share some interesting anecdotes about ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, and about the preparation for his approaching tour with dance partner Flavia Cacace named ‘Midnight Tango’.
Simone was speaking after he presented his cheque to become a custodian on a piece of the racetrack banking at the prestigious museum, which is where one hundred years ago the challenge of speed first started.
The museum holds many of those early pioneering racing cars which established the first records for speed, and Simone is keen to do his bit to support the museum and its history.
Below Simone is pictured with the John Cobbs Napier-Railton, which held the astonishing record of a 24 hour race at an average speed of 136 miles per hour
